The double bottom of free spins
The word free only means you are not paying for the spins out of your own balance. It says nothing about their worth. That comes from two figures promotional copy rarely prints side by side.
The first is the stake behind a single spin — the amount actually played in the game. The second is the rule on where winnings land: on the cash balance, or on a bonus balance with further conditions.
Until you know both, the number of spins is just a figure on a banner.
Those two variables can change the worth of an identical package several times over. So read the terms in reverse to the marketing order: where the winnings go, then the stake, then the count.
Where the price of one spin comes from
The stake per spin is not something a player sets. It is fixed in the promotion parameters and usually matches the minimum, or near-minimum, stake in the game concerned. Spins cannot be saved up for a higher stake later.
The face value of a package is a simple product: spins times stake. That figure is still not what stays with the player — it is the volume flowing through the game.
The gap between volume played through and closing balance is the whole point.
Where the stake is not stated outright, it can be derived from the game the spins are tied to. Every title has its own stake range and the promotion has to fit inside it, or it could not be credited.
What happens to winnings once the spins are used
If the spins do produce something, it is almost never free cash. In most cases the winnings are credited as a bonus balance with a regime of its own.
The reason is practical. If they landed as cash, spins could become a withdrawal without a single deposit. So the winnings carry a betting volume to play through, and sometimes a cap on how much can be carried forward.
How that volume works is covered on the wagering rules page.
The second common limit is time. Spin winnings sit on a deadline, and whatever is unprocessed once it passes is forfeited. How such deadlines are counted, and when they start to run, is explained on the bonus expiry page.
Two origins of spins and how they differ
A package of spins can arise in two ways, and almost everything else follows from that. The table shows where the types part company.
| Criterion | Spins bundled into a package | Spins issued on their own |
|---|---|---|
| Origin | Credited alongside a deposit bonus, as part of it | Arrive with no tie to a deposit offer |
| Link to a deposit | Entitlement arises only once the deposit condition is met | A deposit need not be a condition at all |
| Where winnings land | Usually added to the existing bonus balance, sharing its regime | Create a separate bonus balance with its own rules |
| What to check first | What the betting volume counts from — bonus, deposit or both | Whether a cap applies to carrying winnings forward |
| Most often overlooked | Spins are credited later than the bonus and deadlines need not align | Short validity and a narrow game selection |
The difference is not academic. With the first type the bonus and the spins condition each other; with the second they live separate lives and are tracked separately.
Why the provider picks the game, not the player
Spins are not a universal currency. They work only in titles that support them technically, and that support is built in by the game studio itself.
The Dukat.bet library features studios such as Kajot, Push Gaming and Yggdrasil. Each handles free spins differently — some credit them in the game directly, others only through settings on the operator side.
The game list attached to a promotion therefore shifts, and it is rarely random.
The practical consequence: you mostly do not choose the title. If the game picked for you does not suit your pace or style, the spins are worth less however many there are.
A model calculation of package value
The figures below are invented and serve only to show the method.
Illustrative example (these are not Dukat.bet terms — check them in the official rules): a package holds 50 spins at a stake of 0.10 EUR. Face value is therefore 5 EUR, and that is what flows through the game. Say 7 EUR in winnings builds up and lands on a bonus balance with a ×20 multiplier. That means 140 EUR in stakes before a withdrawal can even be considered.
What follows? Seven euros on screen is not seven euros in the account. It is a ticket into another round of betting, during which part of it statistically dissolves.
The value of spins cannot be estimated from their count.
Where the value of spins is most often lost
The first loss comes from a low stake. A package of many spins at a tiny stake can carry less face value than one several times smaller at a higher stake.
The second sits in the cap on carrying winnings forward. If the rules limit how much can move on from the spins, the ceiling is set in advance, whatever happens in the game.
The third is time — unused spins lapse as quietly as unwagered credit.
The fourth, and least visible, is overlapping conditions. When spins hang on the same bonus balance as a deposit offer, their fate is tied to that offer. How to reach a final figure is shown on the real bonus value page.
How to fit spins into your own budget
Treat spins as borrowed playing time, not as money. Plan the budget without them; anything left over is a surprise, not a line in the plan.
Before accepting a promotion, check four details: the stake per spin, where the winnings land, the deadline and the game. Three are in the rules, the fourth is usually in the name.
A bonus does not assure any profit, and free spins are no exception.
How spins differ from the brand's other mechanics, and when they beat credit, is set out on the bonus overview page.
