Cashback as a shock absorber, not a gift
A player who watches the balance day by day sees a sawtooth line. A run of losing sessions pulls it down faster than the average can level it out. Those drops are usually why most people stop playing before they ever reach their long-run average.
A refund acts on exactly that stretch of the curve. It does not move the expected result upward, only makes the drops shallower. The same budget lasts a little longer and the swings feel milder, though the maths of the game has not shifted.
That is why it makes sense to read 15% Cashback as a correction to variance, not as income.
The difference matters as early as budgeting. Anyone who counts the refund in advance is raising their budget with money they do not have yet and will receive only if they end up down. An overview of the brand's other mechanics is on the bonus overview page.
The calculation base: which amount the percentage comes from
A percentage on its own says nothing until you know what it is taken from. The same figure produces a completely different sum depending on the base the operator has chosen.
There are several approaches. Some count the net loss over a period: deposits minus the balance at the end. Others take the loss only from a selected category of games, or leave sessions played from bonus credit out entirely.
The gap between these approaches is usually wider than the gap between individual rates.
Another variable is whether stretches where the player was up enter the base. In a net calculation a winning session is subtracted from a losing one and the refund falls. Counted by individual losing days, winning days are ignored and the base comes out higher.
The refund parameters worth looking up
A refund offer cannot be judged from a single number. The table below sums up the variables that decide how much of it actually remains, and where to find them.
| Parameter | Why it matters | Where to look |
|---|---|---|
| Calculation base | Which amount the percentage comes from | The definition of net loss in the promotion rules |
| Evaluation period | Whether the loss is added up per day, per week or over another interval | The description of the evaluation cycle |
| Form of credit | Whether it is free money or credit with conditions | The paragraph on how it is credited |
| Betting requirement | Whether the sum can be withdrawn at once | The section on betting volume |
| Game categories included | Which sessions enter the loss | The list of categories in the terms |
| Way it is activated | Whether it is credited automatically or on request | The procedure given in the rules |
| Deadline for claiming | How long the entitlement lasts | The time clause of the promotion |
| Upper cap on the refund | The highest amount for one period | The limit clause |
None of these can be read off an advertising banner. The specific values belong in the official rules, they change over time, and this page deliberately does not quote them.
Money or credit: the form of the payout changes everything
There are two quite different forms of refund. The first is cash on the main balance, free to use including for a withdrawal. The second is bonus credit that has to be wagered first under the promotion rules.
The difference is not cosmetic. A cash refund is worth exactly its headline amount. A credit refund is worth less, because part of it statistically dissolves into bets on the way to a payout.
If the refund comes as credit, the same principles apply as to any other bonus. The betting volume after which credit turns into withdrawable money is described on wagering rules. With this form, look for the multiplier and the deadline before accepting.
A worked example of fifteen percent
The figures below serve purely to show the mechanic.
Illustrative example (these are not Dukat.bet terms — check them in the official rules): a player deposits 200 EUR and ends the tracked period with 40 EUR left. The net loss is 160 EUR, and a fifteen percent refund on it comes to 24 EUR. The balance after crediting is 64 EUR, the total loss against the deposit 136 EUR.
The numbers show what a refund does and does not do. The player finished down even after the credit, but the drop shrank by roughly a sixth. Had the sum arrived as credit with a wagering requirement, its real worth would be lower still.
This is exactly where the most common error in comparing offers arises.
Where budgets break: behaviour after the credit lands
The refund arrives at the moment a player has a losing period behind them. That is psychologically the worst time for decisions, and the mechanic counts on it.
The typical reaction is an attempt to wipe the loss out quickly. The player treats the refund as a second chance, raises the stake and widens the very variance cashback was meant to dampen. The effect of the promotion turns against them.
The opposite approach is duller, but consistent.
Count the refund only once it is on the account and play it at the same stake as before. A refund and a classic deposit bonus set side by side are on cashback versus deposit bonus.
Where to find the current wording of the terms
Promotion terms are adjusted from time to time and no information page can keep up in real time. A simple rule applies: read the numbers where the operator publishes them, and only then decide.
The overview of the offers, the 15% Cashback rate included, is published by the operator — Dukat.bet cashback offer.
Read them in this order: the calculation base first, then the period, and the form of credit last. Those three say more about the value of a promotion than the rate itself.
